The game between closely ranked teams ended with Juventud's (2-1) home victory over Montevideo (0-3) 55-46 on Saturday. Juventud held Montevideo to an opponent 17.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 24.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Juventud forced 31 Montevideo turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Karina Acosta (-1986) who led her team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Cynthia Diaz (158-1994) helped adding 11 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. The best for the losing side was forward Victoria Cardone (160-1994) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Sabrina Blanco (155-2003) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Juventud will meet Lagomar in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Montevideo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Urunday.
