Ninth-ranked Remeros (0-5) used its home court advantage to challenge 25 de Agosto (5-0) in Mercedes. The visitors from Montevideo managed to secure only two-point victory 62-60. However their fans expected much easier game. 25 de Agosto dominated down low during the game scoring 38 of its points in the paint compared to Remeros' 18. 25 de Agosto forced 30 Remeros turnovers and outrebounded them 57-35 including a 28-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Sabrina Molina (179-1998) who led her team to a victory scoring 9 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks. Argentinian guard Rocio Bereilh (165-2001) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Valeria Barrett (175-2000) with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Mariana Alvarez (165-2000) scored 13 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. 25 de Agosto's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Hebraica.
