There was no surprise in Montevideo where 9th rankedCordon (12-19) was crushed by second ranked Aguada (24-7) 97-74 on Thursday. Aguada looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Federico Pereiras (190-1994) who helped to win the game recording 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and naturalized Argentinian power forward Agustin Zuvich (201-1995) who added 16 points and 10 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Five Aguada players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Juan Galletto (182-1996) with 21 points and 4 assists and Panamanian power forward Eric Romero (210-1999, agency: Pro Sports) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aguada keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Penarol. Cordon lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with 19 games lost.
