Second Stage Round 9: Hebraica - Tabare 39-80
Date: September 15, 2024
Bottom-rankedHebraica (0-8) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 80-39 loss to tenth ranked Tabare (2-5) in Montevideo on Sunday evening. They also forced 23 Hebraica turnovers. Tabare looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Hebraica 's players. Forward Micaela Aguerre (180-2003) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and point guard Catalina Tano (174-2003) chipped in 9 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Camila Rijo (-2004) with 8 points and 13 rebounds and center Agostina Nogueira (-2004) scored 8 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Tabare maintains tenth place with 2-5 record. Loser Hebraica still closes the standings with eight games lost. Tabare will meet at home higher ranked 25 de Agosto (#9) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hebraica will have a break next round.
