The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo:Penarol (#3) and Cordon (#8). Cordon was defeated at home 92-104 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cordon. They outrebounded Cordon 37-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Kenneth Horton (201-1989, college: CCSU, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 8 rebounds. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Penarol players scored in double figures. American point guard Deshone Hicks (178-1999, college: Ferrum) replied with 26 points and Cape Verdean Victor Andrade (202-2000) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Cordon. Penarol have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-5 record having four points less than leader Nacional, which they share with Malvin. Cordon at the other side keeps the eighth place with ten games lost.
