Very expected game in Montevideo where 9th rankedUrunday (6-12) was edged by third ranked Penarol (13-5) 83-80 on Monday. Penarol looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American Sean Armand (193-1991, college: Iona, agency: Diamond Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 assists for the winners. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol's coach Leonardo Zylberstein used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Argentinian-American Erik Thomas (195-1995, college: New Orleans) produced 27 points and American guard Joshua Webster (190-1997, college: Missouri St.) added 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Penarol have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 13-5 record having four points less than leader Nacional. Urunday lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost.
