Very expected game when 9th rankedU.Atletica (5-9) lost to first ranked Penarol (12-1) in Montevideo 80-88 on Thursday. Penarol made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Penarol outrebounded U.Atletica 40-24 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Santiago Vescovi (191-2001, college: Tennessee) notched 22 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and Colombian forward Andres Ibarguen (200-1996, college: Angelo St., agency: Helping Ballers) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 17 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by American swingman Christian Alaekwe (193-1998, college: St.Thomas, TX) did not help to save the game for U.Atletica .
