The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo:Malvin (#2) and Urunday (#6). Urunday was crushed at home by 39 points 48-87 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Malvin dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to Urunday 's 20. Malvin forced 23 Urunday turnovers and outrebounded them 55-34 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Malvin looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Guard Carolina Fernandez (186-2003) orchestrated the victory by scoring 9 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Carmela Fontes (188-2005, college: Cal Poly) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) answered with 20 points and 4 assists and power forward Emilia Borges (184-2002) added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Urunday. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Malvin maintains second place with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader D.Sporting, which they share with Tabare. Urunday at the other side keeps the sixth position with three games lost.
