Regular Season Round 12: Llaneros - Cocodrilos 65-92

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Cocodrilos (#2) and Llaneros (#7). Llaneros were smashed at home by 27 points 65-92 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Cocodrilos looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Elder Gimenez (186-91) who scored 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The former international forward Luis Bethelmy (200-86) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Jesus Tovar (183-90) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds and center Carlos Rodriguez (206-89) added 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cocodrilos (9-2) keep a position of league leader, which they share with Spartans. Llaneros lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with seven games lost. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Caracas Broncos.
