Not a big story in a game in Maturin where bottom-ranked Cangrejeros (0-4) were defeated by fourth ranked Supersonicos (2-1) 81-76 on Monday. Supersonicos looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The former international forward Tulio Cobos (197-86, college: Northeastern St.) fired a double-double by scoring 11 points, 8 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. American Jaelyn Johnson-Coston (198-93, college: FMU) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds. The former international swingman Jorge Rondon (193-90) produced 23 points and 5 rebounds and Teobaldo Marcano (199-92) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Supersonicos moved-up to second place, which they share with Cocodrilos. Loser Cangrejeros still closes the standings with four games lost. Supersonicos will meet league's second-placed Gladiadores in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cangrejeros will have a break next round.
