Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Caracas: Spartans (#1) and Llaneros (#6). Spartans (6-0) won against visiting Llaneros (0-2) 68-59. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Spartans made 7 blocks. International center Windi Graterol (204-86) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international swingman Pedro Chourio (186-90) chipped in 18 points. Dominican point guard Yerri Flores (188-96, college: High School) responded with 27 points and swingman Melvin Zambrano (193-95) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Spartans have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Loser Llaneros still closes the standings with two games lost.
