Regular Season Round 8: Patriotas - Caribenas 64-74

The most interesting game of round 8 was a home defeat of their close opponent Patriotas (6-6) to third ranked Caribenas (7-5) 74-64 in the game for the second place. Caribenas dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 20. Caribenas forced 21 Patriotas turnovers and outrebounded them 49-34 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Genesis Rivera (180-96, college: UMass) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and Vanessa Sanchez who added 22 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Center Keisi Moreno (180-1) responded with 26 points and 4 assists and the former international Yolimar Martinez (-95) scored 4 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Caribenas moved-up to second place. Patriotas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the third position with six games lost.
