Everything went according to plan in Caracas where second ranked Cocodrilos (14-6) won against 7th ranked Gigantes (6-12) 79-61 on Friday. It was a great evening for Dominican Luis Montero (203-1993, college: South Plains) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. Forward Jovanni Diaz (203-1990) helped adding 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four Cocodrilos players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Eduardo Rios (182-1988) with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard DaQuan Brooks (177-1990, college: W.Connecticut) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Cocodrilos maintains second place with 14-6 record having just three points less than leader Gladiadores. Gigantes lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the seventh position with 12 games lost. Cocodrilos' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Caracas to the arena Spartans.
