Ciego de Avila earned the LSB title. They defeated Capitalinos 68:64 to sweep the Finals. The victory marked the ninth championship success for Ciego de Avila.
Ciego de Avila stayed in charge throughout the first half. They boosted the gap in the third term. Ciego de Avila entered the final stanza up by 8 points 48:40. Capitalinos pulled within three points early in the final period. But Ciego de Avila increased the tempo and marched to the tough victory at the end. Joan Luis Haiti (200-C-82, agency: Pro Sports) chipped in 16 points to lead the winners. Yasser Rodriguez (187-PG-88) and William Granda (189-SG-85, agency: Pro Sports) provided 13 points each for the champions. Reinier Castillo (185-F/G-76) responded with 17 points for Capitalinos.

Baltur Cento keeps Moreno for another season - 9 hours ago
YANKIEL MORENO Baltur Cento (Serie A2) re-signed 29-year old naturalized Cuban guard Yankiel Moreno (189-88kg-90, agency: Interperformances). He played there last season. In 29 Serie A2 games he averaged 6.1ppg, 3.4rpg, 4.1apg and 1.0spg. The previous (17-18) season Moreno played at Bondi Ferrara (Serie A) where in 38 games he had 7.9ppg, 3.1rpg, 4.8apg and 1.5spg. His team made it to the Italian Lega Due Cup final in 2011. Moreno was a member of Italian U18 National Team back in 2008....   [read more]

Paumier re-signs at Saint-Chamond - 5 days ago
GRISMAY PAUMIER Saint Chamond Basket Valle du Gier (ProB) confirmed in their roster 30-year old Cuban ex-international power forward Grismay Paumier (205-88). He has played there for the last two seasons. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Paumier's team made it to the French ProB Leaders Cup final in 2017. He was also voted All-French NM1 Center of the Year back in 2014. Paumier was a member of Cuban Senior National Team between 2008 and 2009.    [read more]

Javier Justiz selected the top Cuban playing abroad in last week's games - 7 days ago
We bring you last week's top performances from Cubans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level. This week's number one is an international center Javier Justiz (205-92, agency: Pro Sports). He could not help Zaragoza in their last game.
