Regular Season Round 30: Pinheiros - Bauru 60-65
Date: March 6, 2022
Rather expected game in Sao Paulo where 7th ranked Pinheiros (10-14) was defeated by fifth ranked Paschoalotto/Bauru (16-9) 65-60 on Sunday. Strangely Pinheiros outrebounded Paschoalotto/Bauru 45-28 including a 19-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was Argentinian guard Enzo Ruiz (194-1988) who scored 18 points and 8 rebounds. International guard Alex Garcia (190-1980, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Four Paschoalotto/Bauru players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international Jefferson Andrade (207-1983) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and naturalized Portuguese forward Rafael Munford (195-1998, college: Augusta) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Pinheiros' coach David Pelosini tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Paschoalotto/Bauru have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 16-9 record. Loser Pinheiros keeps the seventh place with 14 games lost. They share the position with Paulistano. Paschoalotto/Bauru will meet U.Corinthians (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Pinheiros will play against Caxias do Sul (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
