Atenas is a new champion of the country! After 5 seasons without Liga A title, Atenas made it outplaying Penarol 4-2 in the Finals. Andre Laws (186-G-80, agency: Global Sports Plaza, college: San Diego) once again was a key player for Atenas scoring 21 points last night. Bruno Labaque (183-G-77, agency: Interperformances) followed him with 14, while Leonardo Gutierrez (200-F-78) and Juan Locatelli (198-F-75) delivered 13 points each. Federico Ferrini (194-G/F-83) helped with 12 pts. In Penarol, Pablo Sebastian Rodriguez (188-G-78) was on fire scoring 20 points.

Atenas had had a couple of average seasons but now with the return of Ruben Magnano and a great team they are the favourites for the upcoming season. Juan Locatelli (198-F-75) was named MVP. Quimsa won their first game in the final 4 and it allowed them to get the third position. Quimsa had a fantastic night shooting from outside. they had a 55% in three point shoots. Jonathan Treise and Julio Mazzaro were the more effective players. Gabriel Mikulas (201-F-80, agency: Interperformances, college: E.Carolina) also did a great job coming from the bench with 24 points. On the other hand penarol had not a good night shooting, despite David Jackson was outstanding with 30 points.
