Penarol wins third straight LigaA title - Jun 1, 2012

LigaA Finals, Game 6: Penarol - Obras 75-56 (4-2)

Penarol is the LigaA champion for season 2011/12 and this is their third straight title. They outplayed Obras last night 75-56 in Game Six of the Finals winning the series with 4-2. David Jackson (196-G-82, college: Penn St.) stepped up for Penarol with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Leonardo Gutierrez (200-F-78) had 17 points and 8 boards, while Facundo Campazzo (179-PG-91) helped his team with 12 points and 5 rebs. In the loosing squad, Juan Gutierrez (205-F/C-83) was better than the others with 21 points and 9 rebounds. Alejandro Konsztatd (191-G-89) scored 13 points and Pablo Espinoza (200-F-87) added 8 pts, plus 6 boards. Obras shined in the first ten minutes, but it was all from them last night as Penarol took control for rest of the way. Quarters: 10-21, 21-12, 17-9, 27-14. Penarol eliminated Estudiantes with 3-2 in the Quarterfinals. They edged Libertad with 3-1 in the Semis.
