Regatas Corrientes earn LigaA title - May 16, 2013

Regatas Corrientes are the new LigaA champions! They beat Lanus on the road to sweep the title series. Javier Martinez (189-G/F-78, agency: Dream Team Management) and Federico Kammerichs (202-F-80) accounted for 15 points each to pace Regatas.
Regatas jumped to an early lead in the game. They held on to a 21:17 lead after ten minutes. The Corrientes side stretched the gap in the second period. Regatas accumulated a 36:28 halftime advantage. Lanus were back in the mix in the third quarter. The hosts went on a strong rally to narrow the deficit at 2-point mark 48:50 at the final intermission. Lanus got within a single point 54:55 midway through the fourth frame but Regatas survived the challenge. They capitalized on the absence of Robert Battle who got fouled out in the fourth frame and sealed the historic victory at the end. Tony Washam (200-F-82, college: St.Vincent) posted 12 points for the winners. Adrian Boccia (195-G/F-82) answered with 19 points for Lanus. William McFarlan (201-PF-76, agency: Dream Team Management, college: St.Thomas Aquinas) provided 11 points in the loss.

All-Star Game takes place in Mar del Plata - Jan 23, 2013

The 25th edition of traditional All-Star Game took place in Mar del Plata. Import All-Stars claimed a 113:99 victory over the Argentinean selection. David Jackson (196-G-82, college: Penn St.) scored 30 points to be named the MVP.
It was an exciting close game. Imports selection led by two points after the starting quarter 28:26. They boosted the gap at 4-point mark at halftime 54:50. Argentinean selection got within a single point 80:81 at the third break. However the imports went on a decisive run in the fourth term to seal the victory. John DeGroat (198-F-85, college: Pittsburgh) scored 15 points, while Joshua Pittman (195-F-76, agency: Dream Team Management, college: NC-Asheville) added 14 points for the winners. Leonardo Gutierrez (201-F/C-78) answered with 20 points for Argentina. Juan Gutierrez (205-F/C-83) contributed 15 points in defeat.
The All-Star Game was preceded by the traditional contests. The duo of Bruno Labaque (180-PG-77, agency: Interperformances) and Juan Espil (194-G-68) celebrated the victory at the Three-Point Shootout Contest.
Tayavek Gallizi claimed the Slam Dunk Contest crown.
