Union Florida clinched the title in the inaugural Superliga season. They held off Berazategui in the championship game. The game was mostly controlled by Union Florida. Berazategui managed to win fourth quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Berazategui to just 7 points in third quarter. They outrebounded Berazategui 42-30 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of international point guard Melisa Gretter (161-93, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Spanish swingman Marta Tudanca (182-90, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 9 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Union Florida's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international power forward Andrea Boquete Manna (183-90) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and international power forward Ornella Santana (183-90) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Berazategui. Penarol knocked down Obras to earn the third position in the first Superliga season. The game was mostly controlled by Penarol. Obras was better in third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 29-of-36 charity shots (80.6 percent) during the game. Penarol forced 20 Obras turnovers. Obras was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. Spanish forward Amaya Gastaminza (189-91, college: Oregon St., agency: Josep and Nicolas) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international swingman Sthefany Thomas (175-89, college: Clemson) chipped in 18 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of her nine free throws !!!). At the losing side Lithuanian power forward Dovile Miliauskaite (187-89, college: Towson, agency: Josep and Nicolas) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and Uruguayan guard Maria Pereyra (171-86) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Obras' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
