Estudiantes keep Giovannetti for another season

Movistar Estudiantes Madrid (Primera FEB) re-signed 21-year old Argentinian-Italian ex-international Lucas Giovannetti for the 2026-27 season. He played there last season, averaging 4.2ppg and 2.2rpg in 37 Primera FEB games. Giovannetti played a key role in helping the team win the cup and reach the league final.
Giovannetti was also a member of the Argentinian international program for some years. He played for the Argentinian Senior National Team between 2023 and 2024 and previously for the Under 19 National Team in 2023.
Giovannetti also represented Argentina at the Panamerican Games in Santiago (Chile) three years ago. Giovannetti's team won Gold and he had 15 points per game.
He is a very experienced player, having played in Germany (NGT Munich), Italy (NGT Varese), Lithuania (Next Generation Select Team U18 team), and Spain (Movistar Estudiantes Madrid 2nd team and Palma Fibwi).
Despite his young age, he had an impressive career. He was voted to the Eurobasket.com All-FIBA U17 World Cup Honorable Mention back in 2022.
