Union de Mar del Plata (La Liga Argentina) agreed terms with 25-year old Argentinian-Swiss ex-international center Juan De La Fuente (195cm-2000) for new 2026-27 season. He was the top scorer at Quilmes last season where in 35 La Liga games he had very impressive stats: 15.4ppg, 3.8rpg and 2.3apg. Great season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian Liga Argentina All-Domestic Players Team and Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian Liga Argentina Third Team. The previous (2025) summer he played at Storm (LBP) in Colombian league.
He was also a member of the Argentinian international program for some years. De La Fuente played for the Argentinian Senior National Team between 2018 and 2020 and previously for the Under 18 National Team back in 2018.
He has played in Colombia, Switzerland (Union Neuchatel Basket), and Argentina (Olimpico and Olimpico) during his career.
In 2025, his team reached the LBP Apertura Semifinals.
