Howard Wilkerson agreed terms with Del Progreso

Progreso de General Roca (La Liga Argentina) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 37-year old American 198cm power forward Howard Wilkerson, college: Wofford for upcoming season. Wilkerson played last summer at Atenas. In 20 La Liga Argentina games in Argentina he recorded 7.9ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.5apg.
He is a very experienced player. Wilkerson has played also professionally in Chile (Espanol de Talca and Liceo Mixto), France, Germany, Uruguay (Union Atletica Montevideo, Yale, Capitol, Pacaembu and Danubio), Argentina (Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata, Obera, Huracan, Centro Espanol de Plottier and Sarmiento de Formosa) and Bolivia (La Salle Tarija).
Among many awards his team was regular season runner-up in Argentinian La Liga Argentina Conferencia Sur in 2020. He was also voted to Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian La Liga Argentina Import player of the Year in 2020.
Wilkerson is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Del Progreso.
He attended Wofford College until 2006 and it will be his 17th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
