Argentino Junin (La Liga) inked experienced 37-year old 203cm center Santiago Gonzalez for upcoming season. It is actually his comeback to Junin as he has played here before. Gonzalez played most recently at Club San Jose in the TFB. He helped them to win the Torneo Federal (Nea) title despite they ended the regular season at the second place.
The previous (19-20) season he played at Salta Basket (La Liga Argentina) where in 29 games he averaged 9.0ppg and 9.3rpg (#4 in the league). Gonzalez contributed to his team winning the Supercup and end the regular season at the top position.
He has spent his entire career in Argentina playing for seven other teams: Echague, Boca Juniors, Instituto, MH Basket, Pedro Echague, San Martin Corrientes and MH Basket.
Among many awards he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Argentinian TNA Center of the Year back in 2017.
Gonzalez is close to retirement age as a player. It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Argentino.
