Riachuelo de La Rioja (La Liga) agreed terms with 30-year old American guard Gary Ricks (185cm-85kg-91, college: Drake). Ricks played last summer at Panteras in Mexican LNBP. In 18 games he had 12.2ppg, 2.1rpg and 2.6apg. He helped them to make it to the Mexican LBE final. A very impressive season as he was voted Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and named to 1st Team. Ricks also played for Soles (LBE) in Mexico where in 20 games he was the best scorer with remarkable 24.5ppg and averaged 5.2rpg, 5.9apg (top 2) and 2.0spg (in top 2). Quite impressive season as he was selected Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LBE Player of the Year, Import Player of the Year and named to 1st Team.
He has played also professionally for other Mexican teams like Toros, Tijuana Zonkeys, Halcones de Ciudad Obregon and Abejas.
Ricks attended Drake University until 2015 and it will be his seventh season as a professional player.
