Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Ciclista as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ciclista defeated 10th ranked Racing in Juninense 76-68. Ciclista had a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for Christian Boudet (192-97) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Valentin Duvanced contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Ciclista's coach Daniel Jaule used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Erbel De Pietro (185-88) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds for Racing. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Racing at the other side dropped to the twelfth place with four games lost. They share the position with Pergamino. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in San Miguel de Tucuman. Seventh ranked Villa S.Martin (5-2) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Estudiantes T. (4-2) 68-66 in the game for the second place. It was a great evening for American guard Michael Henry (196-95, college: Buffalo St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Santiago Perez helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). The best for the losing side was guard Jose Muruaga (188-84) with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Villa S.Martin moved-up to second place. Newly promoted Estudiantes T. dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Estudiantes O. and Zarate Basket. Villa S.Martin will play against Salta Basket (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Estudiantes T. will play against Echague (#13) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Del Progreso (3-2) against fifth ranked Zarate Basket (4-2) on Sunday night. Host Del Progreso was crushed by Zarate Basket in General Roca 99-80. It was an exceptional evening for Rafael Banegas who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Leonardo Solis came up with 17 points and 5 assists for Del Progreso in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zarate Basket moved-up to third place, which they share with Estudiantes O. and Estudiantes T. Loser Del Progreso dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 27: Quilmes MP was beaten by Villa Mitre on the road 84-69. Winless Colon SF lost to Dep Norte on its own court 71-75. GELP unfortunately lost to Bahia in Bahia Blanca 87-91. Winless Jachal lost to undefeated Independ.O. at home 69-96. Estudiantes O. defeated Estudiantes C. on the opponent's court 81-73. Salta Basket was beaten by Ameghino in a home game 104-105. Echague was destroyed by Independiente on the road 96-72.
The most impressive performance of 27th round was 24 points and 8 assists by Jose Gutierrez of Villa Mitre.



Villa Mitre - Quilmes MP 84-69

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when fifteenth ranked Villa Mitre (1-4) beat 14th ranked Quilmes MP (1-6) in Bahia Blanca 84-69 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Jose Gutierrez (185-87, agency: BIG) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 8 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Center Juan Javier Bollo (203-92) accounted for 19 points for the winning side. Villa Mitre's coach Lisandro De Tomasi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Chilean guard Cristopher Jara (-0) came up with 19 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Alex Negrete (192-1) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Quilmes MP in the defeat. There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked Bahia (3-3) won against 9th ranked GELP (2-3) in Bahia Blanca 91-87 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ivan Catani (194-98) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Joaquin Sanchez (188-98) accounted for 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side. Yago Sanchez (195-99) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Tomas Ligorria (195-94) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for GELP in the defeat. Four GELP players scored in double figures. Bahia moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Lanus and Rivadavia. Loser GELP dropped to the tenth position with three games lost. They share it with Independiente and Rocamora. Bahia will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
