Hispano Americano de Rio Gallegos (La Liga Argentina) agreed terms with 22-year old Ecuadorian forward Johu Castillo (199cm-1999) for new 2022-23 season. Castillo played this summer at Punto Rojo in Ecuadorian National League. In 12 games just recently he had 10.9ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1bpg. The last season he played at Estudiantes in Argentinian La Liga Argentina where in 51 games he recorded 7.2ppg and 4.2rpg.
He represented Ecuador at the South American Championship U17 in Resistencia (Argentina) seven years ago. His stats at that event were 4 games: 7.0ppg, 4.5rpg, FGP: 34.5%, FT: 32.0%.
Castillo has played also professionally in Importadora.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others his team was regular season runner-up in Argentinian La Liga Argentina Conferencia Centro in 2020. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Ecuadorian Liga Desarrollo Honorable Mention in 2020.
