La Liga top team - Instituto (31-7) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed twentieth ranked Atenas (5-33) in Cordoba 90-70. Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Mateo Chiarini (190-1998) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points and 4 assists. The former international forward Bautista Lugarini (203-2001) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Swingman Federico Mariani (190-1992) answered with 17 points for Atenas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 31-7 record. Atenas lost fourth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 33 lost games.
Important game to mention about took place in Buenos Aires. Twelfth ranked Penarol (20-18) saved a 1-point derby victory on the road edging higher ranked Obras (22-15) 89-88 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obras. It was a great evening for the former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 6 rebounds. Agustin Caffaro helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) responded with 23 points and 8 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Obras' coach Gregorio Martinez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Penarol moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Riachuelo LR. Obras at the other side keeps the seventh position with 15 games lost.
Nineteenth-ranked Union SF (8-30) used its home court advantage to challenge twelfth ranked Riachuelo LR (20-18) in Santa Fe on Wednesday. The visitors from La Rioja managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for Mariano Fierro who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. LaMarshall Corbett came up with 17 points for Union SF in the defeat. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Riachuelo LR moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Penarol. Loser Union SF keeps the nineteenth position with 30 games lost.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 47: Olimpico was beaten by San Martin on the road 81-66. Comunicaciones was destroyed by Boca on its own court 66-88. Regatas unfortunately lost to La Union in Formosa 83-87.
The most impressive performance of 47th round was 13 points and 9 rebounds by Darol Hernandez-Zinenko of Regatas.




Instituto - Atenas 90-70

San Martin outrebounded Olimpico 39-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for the former international Matias Solanas (192-1998) who led the winners and scored 27 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international Javier Saiz (206-1994) accounted for 18 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side.
