Nineteenth-ranked Union SF (8-30) made lots of trouble for twelfth ranked Riachuelo LR (20-18) in Santa Fe on Wednesday. The visitors from La Rioja managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Riachuelo LR dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Union SF's 24. They outrebounded Union SF 43-27 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Mariano Fierro (200-1986) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Latraius Mosley (198-1990, college: Life) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. American guard LaMarshall Corbett (190-1988, college: Angelo St.) responded with 17 points and guard Emiliano Toretta (185-2001) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Union SF's coach Juan Francisco Ponce tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Riachuelo LR moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Penarol. Loser Union SF keeps the nineteenth position with 30 games lost.
