It was a great shooting night for Comunicaciones especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. American point guard Keron DeShields (190-1992, college: Tennessee St., agency: Diamond Sports) scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import guard Marcus Thomas (191-1995, college: Rosemont) chipped in 23 points and 7 assists during the contest. American forward Stephen Maxwell (201-1993, college: CSUN) responded with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Riachuelo LR will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Comunicaciones will try to continue on its current victory against Platense in Florida. Ferro recorded a loss in Buenos Aires. Visitors were defeated by Boca 77-66. The former international point guard Jose Vildoza (191-1996, agency: Octagon Europe) notched 19 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Marcos Mata supported him with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Even 14 points and 7 rebounds by forward Mariano Fierro (200-1986) did not help to save the game for Ferro. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. Obera crushed at home Penarol by 34 points 105-71, which is the biggest margin this round on Monday night. The best player for the winners was Agustin Barreiro who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Joaquin Valinotti produced 14 points and 5 assists for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Obera will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Penarol will play against Regatas in Corrientes and hope to win that game.
