La Liga Argentina Round 2 (Regular Season): Atenas are defeated by Dep Norte

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in La Liga Argentina. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Atenas in Cordoba on Wednesday night. Hosts were defeated by Dep Norte 81-66. Point guard Joaquin Baeza (182-1986, agency: BIG) scored 18 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and guard Franco Montemagio (185-2002) chipped in 17 points during the contest. Dep Norte's coach Alejandro Cupulutti used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Jose Montero (193-1995) responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Dep Norte is looking forward to face Montmartre in Catamarca in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Atenas will have a break next round.
Dep Norte was upset in Cordoba by Barrio Parque 81-71. Swingman Ramiro Ledesma (192-2000) notched 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-16 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and Lautaro Rivata supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Even 11 points and 7 rebounds by Lucas Nunez (200-1997) did not help to save the game for Dep Norte. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Barrio Parque will play against Sarmiento in Chaco in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dep Norte will play at home against Montmartre to get more than just one victory in their record.
The game in Colon was also quite interesting. Pergamino played at the court of La Union. Pergamino defeated La Union 83-73 on Thursday. The best player for the winners was Juan Martin Bello who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 assists. Lucio Longoni produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 18 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the hosts. Pergamino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. La Union will play against Ciclista and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 2: winless San Isidro was destroyed by Barrio Parque on the opponent's court 87-64. Winless Villa Mitre unfortunately lost to Pico FC in a home game 77-84. Winless Lanus lost to undefeated Pilar on the road 69-70. Winless Echague lost to undefeated Colon SF on its own court 78-83. Pergamino lost to undefeated Provincial in Rosario 69-74.



Barrio Parque - San Isidro 87-64

Very expected game in Cordoba where San Isidro was crushed by Barrio Parque 87-64 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was swingman Ramiro Ledesma (192-2000) who scored 22 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Nahuel Buchaillot (178-2000) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Four Barrio Parque players scored in double figures. Barrio Parque's coach Esteban Pierdominici felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. American Christopher Hooper (198-1991, college: SFC) produced 11 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Santiago Luduena (176-1993) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Barrio Parque will meet Sarmiento in the next round and are hoping to win another game. San Isidro will play against Independiente and hope to win that game.
