Top ranked Pico FC (9-4) recorded its fourth loss in Chivilcoy on Tuesday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Racing (7-5) 59-37. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Pico FC. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Racing forced 21 Pico FC turnovers. Power forward Jose Peralta (202-1995) fired 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Luciano Ortiz (199-1999) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. Racing's coach Diego D'Ambrosio felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Facundo Saez produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Racing moved-up to second place. Pico FC at the other side still keeps top position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Cordoba. First ranked Atenas faced 3rd placed GEPU. Host Atenas (9-1) smashed guests from San Luis (6-2) 84-63. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Roquez Johnson (201-1992, college: MSU, agency: BIG) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Lucas Arn contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Coach Gustavo Peirone's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Franco Maeso (197-2000) answered with 17 points for GEPU. Atenas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. GEPU at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Atenas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. GEPU will play at home against Sarmiento (#16) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Ninth-ranked Colon (3-5) made lots of trouble for third ranked Suardi (7-2) on Wednesday. Suardi managed to secure only three-point victory 83-80. However their fans expected much easier game. Pablo Martinez stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Tomas Botta responded with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Suardi moved-up to second place. Loser Colon SF keeps the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Suardi will meet at home Echague (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Colon will play against Dep Norte (#8) in Armstrong and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games of round 13 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
GELP was crushed by Racing A. in Buenos Aires 80-59. U.Mar del Plata was beaten by Provincial at home 72-75. Ameghino won against Ciclista on the opponent's court 62-58. Quilmes MP managed to outperform Rocamora in a home game 100-89. Montmartre rolled over Jachal on the road 100-74.
The best stats of 13th round was 26 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists by Alvaro Caraffa of Jachal.



Racing A. - GELP 80-59

There was an upset in Buenos Aires where higher ranked GELP (5-5) was crushed by sixteenth ranked Racing A. (3-1) 80-59 on Tuesday. Augustin Silva stepped up and scored 26 points for the winners and point guard Nicolas Remolina (185-1998) chipped in 15 points. Four Racing A. players scored in double figures. At the losing side swingman Marco Risso (190-2001) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Alan Moreno (185-1997, agency: BIG) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Racing A.. They moved-up to fourteenth place. Loser GELP dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Quilmes MP. Racing A. will meet at home U.Mar del Plata (#17) in the next round. GELP will play against Ciclista (#15) and hope to secure a win.

The former international swingman Adrian Boccia (195-1982) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and forward Pablo Fernandez (196-1982) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Four Provincial players scored in double figures. Provincial's coach Gutavo Lalima used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Juan Bellozas (195-1993) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds and point guard Tomas Quinteros (184-2001) scored 20 points. Provincial moved-up to tenth place, which they share with La Union. U.Mar del Plata lost their ninth game in a row. U.Mar del Plata at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Jachal. Provincial will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. U.Mar del Plata will play against Racing A.
