Charles Thomas

Regatas Corrientes (La Liga) has signed Charles Thomas, a 37-year-old American power forward who stands at 203cm tall and played college basketball at Arkansas. Thomas began the season with Penarol in the Uruguayan LUB league, where he averaged 13.4 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in 9 games. He had a successful season and was named the League Player of the Week. Last summer, he played for Olimpia in the Paraguayan league (LNB) and also had a stint with Reales in the Dominican Republic league (LNB).
He's a highly experienced player who has traveled extensively throughout his professional career. He has played in twelve different countries across four continents, including Bosnia, Bulgaria (Akademik Sofia), Finland (FoKoPo), France (Nantes and Chorale de Roanne), Israel (Maccabi Effie Capital Rishon Le-Zion and Maccabi Ashdod/Be'er Tuvia), Italy (Cantu, Scafati, Ravenna and Legnano), Jordan (ASU Sports Club), Lebanon (Sagesse), Paraguay, Ukraine (Dnipro, Mariupol and Cherkasy), and Venezuela (Trotamundos and Brillantes).
Among the many awards he has won, he secured the Dominican Republic LNB championship title in 2023. Additionally, he was chosen for the Latinbasket.com Uruguay LUB All-Imports Team in the same year. As a player, he is nearing retirement age, and it is possible that this could be one of his final seasons in his illustrious career, potentially concluding it at Regatas.
He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2008, and this is his 16th season in professional basketball.
