Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 14 in the LDD took place in Olivia. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Boca Jrs (11-5) to fourth ranked Independ.O. (11-5) 78-75 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Boca Jrs. The best player for the winners was point guard Jorge Garcia (180) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds. Esteban Caffaro (200-2003) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Independ.O.'s coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Nicolas Stenta (200-2004) produced 15 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Independ.O. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ferro and Boca Jrs. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Boca Jrs. will play at home against San Martin and is hoping to win this game.
Very important is a home loss of second ranked Ferro (11-5) against eleventh ranked Argentino (7-8) on Wednesday night. Host Ferro was defeated by Argentino in Buenos Aires 66-51. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ferro. Guard Augusto Gennero (188-2003) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Franco Capelli contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Center Augusto Roveres (207-2003) replied with 12 points for Ferro. Ferro's coach Jonathan Laino rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Argentino moved-up to tenth place. Ferro at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Boca Jrs. and Independ.O.. Argentino will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro will play on the road against Platense in Florida and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Leader Gimnasia CR delivered the fourteenth victory on Monday night. This time they beat 11th ranked Platense (6-9) 87-82 in Comodoro Rivadavia. Angel Reyes scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. Santino Mazzucchelli responded with 31 points and 8 rebounds. Gimnasia CR (14-1) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Loser Platense dropped to the twelfth place with nine games lost. Gimnasia will meet at home San Lorenzo (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Platense will play against Ferro and hope to secure a win.

Rest of the games of round 14 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Boca Jrs. defeated Union in Buenos Aires 97-89. Independ.O. beat Obras at home 80-73. Argentino lost to San Lorenzo on the opponent's court 76-91. Obera outscored Zarate in a home game 79-58. Obras managed to beat Quimsa on the road 92-82. Riachuelo defeated Instituto on its own court 78-72.




Union - Boca Jrs. 89-97

There was no surprise in Santa Fe where 13th ranked Union (5-7) was defeated by second ranked Boca Jrs (11-5) 97-89 on Sunday. Boca Jrs. shot 61.4 percent from the field. Forward Tiziano Prome (201-2005) scored 18 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Federico Contrera (-2006) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Estanislao Crespi responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Facundo Chamorro scored 11 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Union's coach Martin Castellazzi tested eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Boca Jrs have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Boca Jrs. maintains second position with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader Gimnasia, which they share with Ferro and Independ.O. Loser Union keeps the thirteenth place with seven games lost. Boca Jrs. will meet at home bottom-ranked San Martin (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Union will play against Obera (#5) and hope to secure a win.

Four Independ.O. players scored in double figures. Independ.O.'s coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Lautaro Barrios (195-2004) responded with 31 points and point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) scored 9 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Independ.O. have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Ferro and Boca Jrs. Obras lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with seven games lost. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Obras will play against San Martin (#20) and hope to secure a win.

Valentino Nesci scored 16 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Thiago Roca (-2004) chipped in 20 points during the contest. San Lorenzo's coach Juan Veira used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Prinzio Di responded with 17 points and point guard Santiago Capelli (180-2005) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. San Lorenzo moved-up to eleventh place. Loser Argentino dropped to the tenth position with eight games lost. San Lorenzo will meet league's leader Gimnasia in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Argentino will have a break next round.

Obera dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Zarate's 26. Obera's coach Lucas Gornatti felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest.
