This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd placed Boca Jrs (15-6) to seventh ranked Obras (13-7) 75-73 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Boca Jrs. 24 personal fouls committed by Boca Jrs. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Victor Perez (187-2005) who scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Swingman Lautaro Barrios (195-2004) chipped in 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Tiziano Prome (201-2005) produced 27 points and 9 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Obras have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain seventh place with 13-7 record. Boca Jrs. at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. They share it with Independ.O.. Obras are looking forward to face San Lorenzo (#12) in Almagra in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Gimnasia CR's coach Gustavo Sapochnik used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Franco Chir responded with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Gimnasia maintains first place with 17-2 record. Loser La Union keeps the fifteenth position with 11 games lost. Gimnasia will meet at home Argentino (#13) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. La Union will have a break next round.
In the last two games of round 23 Zarate was crushed by Riachuelo in La Rioja 102-81. Regatas was smashed by Union at home 55-84.
