Angel Reyes claims Argentinian LDD weekly honour

Talented Dominican Rep. Angel Reyes (201-G/F-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The 21-year old swingman had a double-double of 26 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat La Union (#15, 7-11) 94-80. It allowed Gimnasia to consolidate first place in the Argentinian LDD. Gimnasia have a solid 17-2 record. In the team's last game Reyes had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. He turned to be Gimnasia's top player in his first season with the team. Reyes has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.5ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.4rpg) and averages solid 1.6bpg,2.4spg and 65.5% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Tiziano Prome (201-F-2005) of Boca Juniors Buenos Aires. Prome impressed basketball fans with 27 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Boca was edged by the lower-ranked Obras (#7, 13-7) 75-73. This loss caused Boca to drop to 4th position in the standings. His team's 15-6 record is not bad at all. Prome is a newcomer at Boca and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Fabricio Diaz (205-C-2006) of Riachuelo de La Rioja U22 team (#6). Diaz scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Riachuelo, leading his team to a 102-81 easy win against the lower-ranked Zarate (#18, 5-16). Riachuelo needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 7 lost games. Diaz has a very solid season. In 15 games in Argentina he scored 8.8ppg. He also has 8.3rpg and a FGP of 51.6%.
