The most exciting game of round 26 in the LDD took place in Santa Fe. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Ferro (17-9) to tenth ranked Union (11-10) 74-71 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Union forced 20 Ferro turnovers. The best player for the winners was Estanislao Crespi who had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Matias Cagliero (187-2005) chipped in 15 points. Union's coach Martin Castellazzi used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Tobias Tamagusuku produced 14 points for the guests. Union have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 11-10 record. Ferro at the other side dropped to the third place with nine games lost. Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro will play on the road against the league's second-placed Riachuelo and will have a slim chance for a victory.

Instituto have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Comunicaciones keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Rest of the games of round 26 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
San Lorenzo was defeated by Riachuelo in La Rioja 84-76. Penarol was beaten by La Union at home 98-107. Comunicaciones lost to Riachuelo on the opponent's court 84-88. Penarol outscored Zarate in a home game 83-61.
The best stats of 26th round was 16 points and 9 rebounds by Juan Ibarra of Zarate.



Argentino - Ferro 66-54

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Ferro (17-9) against fifteenth ranked Argentino (9-15) on Monday night. Visiting Ferro was defeated by Argentino in Junin 66-54. Instituto - Comunicaciones 91-62

The game with biggest result difference took place in Cordoba. Local Instituto (16-4) outscored 9th ranked Comunicaciones (12-9) 91-62 on Wednesday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Comunicaciones. Instituto dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to Comunicaciones' 16. Instituto forced 20 Comunicaciones turnovers. Point guard Bruno Abratte (174-2004) scored 17 points to lead the charge for the winners and Colombian swingman Jerson Caicedo (-2001) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Five Instituto players scored in double figures. Instituto's coach Mauro Salinas felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Marcos Panozzo (195) responded with 24 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Agustin Passone (180-2003) scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. There was no surprise in La Rioja where 12th ranked San Lorenzo (9-14) was defeated by sixth ranked Riachuelo (17-8) 84-76 on Wednesday. Riachuelo outrebounded San Lorenzo 44-33 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Mateo Corso (185-2003) scored 19 points and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Matias Bichara chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Riachuelo LR players scored in double figures. Guard Lucas Latorre (183-2002) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Eduardo Santamaria produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Riachuelo moved-up to second place. Loser San Lorenzo keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Riachuelo will meet at home Ferro (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. San Lorenzo will play against the league's leader Gimnasia (#1) and hope to secure a win.

The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifteenth ranked La Union's (8-12) road victory over 16th ranked Penarol (8-15) 107-98 on Wednesday. La Union dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Penarol's 44. La Union looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Gabriel Campoya had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Franco Chir (190-2002) chipped in 19 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Forward Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-2004) responded with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Franco Vinciguerra (186-2002) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds. Five La Union and four Penarol players scored in double figures. Penarol's coach Tomas Sirochinsky rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. La Union maintains fifteenth position with 8-12 record. Loser Penarol keeps the sixteenth place with 15 games lost. La Union will meet at home higher ranked Obera (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Penarol will play against Obras (#7) in Buenos Aires and hope to secure a win.
