An interesting game for Racing (22-10) which played road game in General Pico against 3rd placed Pico FC (20-12). Second ranked Racing managed to get a 10-point victory 73-63. It was a good game for power forward Jose Peralta (202-1995) who led his team to a victory with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Santiago Assum (194-1998) contributed with 17 points for the winners. Facundo Saez answered with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Pico FC. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Racing have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 22-10 record having just three points less than leader San Isidro. Pico FC at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost.
Important game to mention about took place in Rio Gallegos. Fourth ranked Villa Mitre (19-13) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked H.Americano (15-16) 89-88 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of H.Americano. It was a great evening for power forward Franco Pennacchiotti (205-1990) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds. Federico Harina helped adding 26 points. The best for the losing side was forward Gonzalo Romero (196-1997) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Fifteenth-ranked GELP (10-21) used its home court advantage to challenge sixth ranked Dep Viedma (18-14) in La Plata on Saturday. The visitors from Rio Negro managed to secure only two-point victory 78-76. However their fans expected much easier game. It was an exceptional evening for Mariano Marina who led the winners and scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Isidro Amendolara came up with 20 points for GELP in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Dep Viedma moved-up to fifth place. Loser GELP keeps the fifteenth position with 21 games lost.
There were no big surprises in other games of round 51: Pergamino was smashed by Ameghino on the road 70-49. Provincial won against U.Mar del Plata on its own court 80-63. Racing A. unfortunately lost to Pilar in a road game 82-90. Colon managed to beat Echague at home 91-75. U.Mar del Plata defeated La Union on the opponent's court 88-78. Villa S.Martin smashed Independiente in a home game 91-56. U.Mar del Plata was destroyed by Rocamora on the road 84-62.
The most impressive performance of 51th round was 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists by Matias Caire of Rocamora.
