The Regular Season in La Liga is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 5 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Top ranked Quimsa (23-5) recorded its fifth loss in Santiado del Estero on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fifteenth ranked Penarol (12-17) 80-75. The best player for the winners was point guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-1998) who scored 21 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Swingman Julian Morales (195-1995) chipped in 8 points and 13 rebounds. American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) produced 18 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Penarol moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Independ.O. Defending champion Quimsa still keeps top position with five games lost. Penarol is looking forward to face higher ranked San Martin (#6) in Corrientes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Quimsa will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Union managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged fifth-ranked Platense in Santa Fe 98-96. American Dominique Morrison (198-1989, college: ORU, agency: Haylett Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points. Matthew Butler contributed with 19 points for the winners. Union SF's coach Maximiliano Seigorman allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. point guard Facundo Vazquez (185-1998) answered with 25 points and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for Platense. Union (8-22) moved-up to nineteenth place, which they share with Argentino. Platense lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. Union will play against higher ranked Obras (#7) in Buenos Aires in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Platense will have a break next round.
Ninth-ranked Boca (16-13) made lots of trouble for third ranked Instituto (22-9) in Cordoba on Tuesday. Instituto managed to secure only two-point victory 87-85. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for Javier Saiz who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!). Jose Vildoza responded with 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Boca's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto moved-up to second place. Boca at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Instituto will meet at home Ferro (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Boca will have a break next round.

Other games of round 35 were quite predictable and ended without any surprises. Here they are:
Boca was defeated by Riachuelo in La Rioja 82-77. La Union beat Argentino at home 85-73. Zarate lost to San Martin on the opponent's court 77-79. Gimnasia managed to outperform Independ.O. in a home game 89-79. Zarate managed to beat La Union on the road 64-61. Penarol defeated Obera on its own court 74-57. Platense beat Comunicaciones in Florida 67-63.
The best stats of 35th round was 14 points and 9 rebounds by Ricardo Glenn of Comunicaciones.



Riachuelo LR - Boca 82-77

There was a minor upset in La Rioja where 9th ranked Boca (16-13) was defeated by eleventh ranked Riachuelo (14-16) 82-77 on Sunday. It was a great evening for Colombian forward Andres Ibarguen (200-1996, college: Angelo St., agency: Helping Ballers) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Dominican-American forward Anyeuri Castillo (201-1997, college: USC Aiken) helped adding 16 points and 7 rebounds. Jose Defelippo (186-1997) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and the former international Leonardo Mainoldi (205-1985) scored 13 points. Five Riachuelo and four Boca players scored in double figures. Boca's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Riachuelo have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain eleventh place with 14-16 record. Boca at the other side keeps the ninth position with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Everything could happen in Formosa at the game between two tied teams. Both eighteenth ranked La Union and 19th ranked Argentino had identical 8-21 record. This time La Union used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Junin 85-73 on Sunday night. La Union outrebounded Argentino 44-25 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. La Union looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Argentino's players. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Martin Fernandez (195-1997) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Haitian forward Wes Alcegaire (198-1994, college: BGSU) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four La Union players scored in double figures. La Union's coach Sebastian Ginobili used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Very expected game in Corrientes where 14th ranked Zarate (13-19) was edged by seventh ranked San Martin (18-12) 79-77 on Monday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great evening for the former international guard Agustin Perez (192-1999) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Lucas Gargallo (196-1995) helped adding 8 points and 7 rebounds. San Martin's coach Gabriel Revidatti used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Swingman Damian Pineda (194-1988) responded with 18 points and Edgar Merchant (200-2002) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. San Martin have an impressive series of five victories in a row.
