Argentinian LDD round 34 best performance: Joaquin Diaz

Joaquin Diaz had a great game in the last round for Zarate Basket Independiente, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 34.
The player was the main contributor (29 points, seven rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to beat La Union (#17, 10-18) 81-72. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Zarate maintains the 18th position in Argentinian LDD. Zarate is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-20 record. In the team's last game Diaz had a remarkable 62.5% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 9 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Joaquin Diaz has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (9th best: 3.5rpg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Nicolas Chiaraviglio (199-F-2004) of Penarol Mar del Plata. Chiaraviglio had a very good evening with 36 points and 4 rebounds. Bad luck as Penarol lost that game 82-87 to the higher-ranked Obera (#10, 16-14). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Penarol keeps 15th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-17 record. Chiaraviglio is well-known at Penarol and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.3ppg (#1). He also registered 7.4 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was Santino Mazzucchelli of Club Atletico Platense Florida (#12). Mazzucchelli showcased his all-around game by recording 25 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Mazzucchelli's great performance the Platense lost 76-85 to the higher-ranked Comunicaciones (#8, 16-11). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Platense not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 17 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mazzucchelli could try to bring Platense's a little bit higher in the standings. Mazzucchelli has individually a great season in Argentina. After 27 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 9.9rpg (4th best).
