The most exciting game of round 37 in the LDD took place in Obera. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of much higher ranked Instituto (24-8) to eighth ranked Obera (18-15) 86-83 on Monday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. 24 personal fouls committed by Instituto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Power forward Kelvin Ramirez (204-2002) stepped up and scored 26 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and forward Alejo Azpilicueta (201-2002) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Fausto Moussa (198-2004) responded with 23 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Defending champion maintains eighth place with 18-15 record. Instituto at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Santiago del Estero. Fourteenth ranked La Union (12-19) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 11th ranked Quimsa (13-15) 89-86 on Monday evening. Franco Gimenez nailed 28 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and Franco Chir accounted for 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Raymon Bastardo (202-2002) came up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 16 rebounds for Quimsa in the defeat. Despite that victory La Union went down to fifteenth position due to points difference. Quimsa at the other side keeps the eleventh place with 15 games lost. La Union will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Quimsa will play on the road against Argentino (#14) in Junin and hopes to get back on the winning track.
17th ranked Regatas (11-20) was outscored at home by second ranked Instituto (24-8) with the biggest margin this round 77-55 on Saturday night. Ignacio Beltramino fired 15 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Matias Sanz produced 20 points for lost side. Instituto maintains second place with 24-8 record having just five point less than leader Gimnasia. Loser Regatas keeps the seventeenth position with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 37: Ferro won against Quimsa on the opponent's court 87-69. Obera outscored San Martin in a home game 85-63. San Lorenzo recorded a loss to Penarol on the road 81-72. Riachuelo crushed La Union on its own court 101-82.
