Tomas Delia claims Argentinian LDD weekly honour

Tomas Delia put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Zarate Basket U22 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 33.
The had the game-high 31 points adding seven rebounds for Zarate in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Argentino (#12, 11-15) 85-83. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Zarate is placed at 17th position in Argentinian LDD. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Zarate have already lost 18 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Delia had a remarkable 83.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Zarate's top player in his first season with the team. Tomas Delia averages this season 18.3ppg and 7.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Mateo Rearte (2006) of San Martin Corrientes. Rearte impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as San Martin was edged by the higher-ranked Obera (#7, 16-7) 89-85. San Martin is still in a red zone at 16th spot in the standings. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just seven victories San Martin managed to get this year. Rearte is a newcomer at San Martin and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.4ppg (#5). He also registered 6.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Francisco Suarez of Argentino Junin U22 team (#12). Suarez got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. Despite Suarez's great performance the Argentino lost 83-85 to the lower-ranked Zarate (#17, 5-18). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Argentino ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 15 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Suarez could help Argentino to bring them higher in the standings. Suarez has a very solid season. In 26 games in Argentina he scored 8.7ppg.
