Tomatis' double-double lands him Player of the Week award

Tiago Tomatis had a very impressive game in the last round for Atenas Cordoba and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 40.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 15 rebounds, while his team edged out Zarate (#17, 7-24) 80-77. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Atenas maintains the 20th position in Argentinian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 28 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Tomatis had a remarkable 52.9% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Atenas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Tomatis has impressive league stats. Second best performed player last round was Fabricio Diaz (205-C-2006) of Riachuelo de La Rioja. He is a center in his first season at Riachuelo LR. In the last game Diaz recorded an impressive double-double of 25 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Riachuelo lost that game 80-87 to slightly higher-ranked Obras (#2, 26-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Riachuelo still maintains its place in the top 4 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 22-9 record is not bad at all. Diaz is a newcomer at Riachuelo and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to Valentino Nesci) of San Lorenzo de Almagro (#13). Nesci got into 30-points club by scoring 34 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Nesci's great performance the San Lorenzo lost 82-89 to the higher-ranked La Union (#10, 15-12). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of San Lorenzo ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 16 games, recording just thirteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Nesci could help San Lorenzo to bring them higher in the standings. Nesci has a very solid season. In 27 games in Argentina he scored 13.2ppg. He also has 7.0rpg and a FGP of 55.2%.
