(1-0) 93-86. 24 personal fouls committed by Instituto helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was who scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. chipped in 14 points. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for Regatas. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Obras will play against Olimpico (#10) in La Banda in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Boca Juniors delivered the third consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat Platense (0-1) 97-87 in Florida. It was a great evening for Fidel Cifuentes who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was Johnny Hughes III with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games.
