La Liga Proximo Round 7 (Regular Season): Boca Jrs. is defeated by Obras in a derby game

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in LDB. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Buenos Aires: Obras (#2) and Boca Jrs (#8). Obras (6-0) crushed visiting Boca Jrs (3-4) by 31 points 90-59. Obras dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Boca Jrs's 32. Obras outrebounded Boca Jrs. 50-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side guard Tiago Drocezesky (193-2005) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Obras have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-0 record having just three point less than leader Instituto. Boca Jrs. at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked La Union (5-2) against fifteenth ranked Penarol (2-4) on Sunday night. Visiting La Union was edged by Penarol in a tough game in Mar del Plata 60-63. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Gonzalo Aman accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Franco Gimenez (190) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds for La Union in the defeat. Penarol moved-up to thirteenth place. La Union at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with San Lorenzo. Penarol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. La Union will play at home against Argentino and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Union has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Ferro destroyed Argentino on the opponent's court 91-52. Instituto outscored San Lorenzo in a home game 77-45. San Lorenzo managed to beat Atenas on the road 77-72. Regatas defeated Union on its own court 68-66. Gimnasia was beaten by Independ.O. in Olivia 87-72.



Argentino - Ferro 52-91

Very expected game in Junin where 12th ranked Argentino (3-3) was crushed by sixth ranked Ferro (4-1) 91-52 on Friday. Ferro forced 26 Argentino turnovers. fired 21 points for the winners. chipped in 18 points. Four Ferro players scored in double figures. point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) produced 13 points and Gonzalo Aman added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Argentino's coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Ferro. They moved-up to fifth place. Loser Argentino dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. They share it with Racing Ch.. Ferro will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Argentino will play against La Union (#3) in Formosa and hope to secure a win.

Instituto looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by San Lorenzo's players. fired 16 points and 5 steals for the winners. chipped in 4 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Instituto's coach Ignacio Giambartolomei felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Valentino Nesci produced 7 points and 11 rebounds and Felipe Fernandez added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Instituto. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Loser San Lorenzo dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with La Union. Lucas Peralta (-2005) produced 28 points and 7 rebounds and Jeronimo Maidana added 11 points and 14 rebounds respectively for lost side.
