Obras dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Boca Jrs's 32. Obras outrebounded Boca Jrs. 50-30 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Juan Respaud (190-2005) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Power forward Valentino Finetti (204-2005) helped adding 13 points. At the losing side guard Tiago Drocezesky (193-2005) responded with 12 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Undefeated Obras have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-0 record having just three point less than leader Instituto. Boca Jrs. at the other side dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Very important is a road loss of third ranked La Union (5-2) against fifteenth ranked Penarol (2-4) on Sunday night. Visiting La Union was edged by Penarol in a tough game in Mar del Plata 60-63. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Gian Rossi (185-2005) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Gonzalo Aman accounted for 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Franco Gimenez (190) came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds for La Union in the defeat. Penarol moved-up to thirteenth place. La Union at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with San Lorenzo. Union has finally registered their first victory this season after four consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Corrientes, where they defeated San Martin (0-6) 77-68 on Sunday. Lucas Peralta fired 23 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. San Lorenzo managed to beat Atenas on the road 77-72. Regatas defeated Union on its own court 68-66. Gimnasia was beaten by Independ.O. in Olivia 87-72.
