The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Ferro (6-1) in Olivia on Thursday night. Visitors were defeated by fifth ranked Independ.O. (6-2) 87-75. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds. contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Eduardo Vasirani answered with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for Ferro. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Independ.O. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. Ferro at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Independ.O. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ferro will play on the road against Atenas in Cordoba and is hoping to win this game.

Dominican center Luis Santos (203-1994, college: St.Louis) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and Pablo Gramajo chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Regatas' coach Juan Manuel Varas allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. Despite that victory Regatas went down to ninth position due to points difference. Defending champion Boca Juniors dropped to the fifth place with five games lost. Regatas will play against league's second-placed Instituto in Cordoba in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Boca Juniors will play at home against San Lorenzo and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Alejandro Diez nailed 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Ferro's coach Federico Fernandez used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Nicolas Copello came up with 18 points and 6 rebounds for Instituto in the defeat. Ferro moved-up to third place. Loser Instituto still keeps top position with four games lost. They share it with La Union. Ferro will meet Atenas (#14) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Instituto will play against Regatas (#9) in Corrientes and hope to secure a win.

Other games in round 13 were not that significant. San Martin was beaten by Obras on the road 77-67. Bottom-ranked Argentino lost to Platense on its own court 80-92. San Martin unfortunately lost to Penarol in Mar del Plata 72-75. Obera rolled over Olimpico at home 86-62.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 17 points by Facundo Pinero of Ferro.




Obras - San Martin 77-67

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Obras (5-3) beat 9th ranked San Martin (5-5) in Buenos Aires 77-67 on Monday. The former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) nailed 16 points for the winning side and the former international Marcos Mata (202-1986) accounted for 14 points. Obras' coach Guido Fabbris used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Franco Mendez (188-2002) came up with 16 points and Salvador Giletto (195-1993) added 11 points respectively for San Martin in the defeat. Obras maintains sixth place with 5-3 record, which they share with Penarol and Obera. Loser San Martin dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. They share it with Quimsa. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
