Argentinian LDD round 16 best performance: Carlos Hurtado (by Hoops Agents)

Ecuadorian Forward Carlos Hurtado (212-F-2006) had an amazing evening in the last round for Independiente de Oliva, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 19-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 19 rebounds, while his team outclassed Atenas (#18, 3-12) with 34-point margin 87-53. Independ.O. maintains the 4th position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Independ.O. will need more victories to improve their 9-3 record. It's Hurtado's second year at Independ.O. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Carlos Hurtado has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.0ppg) and averages impressive 69.1% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Ulises Gonzalez (2005) of Union de Santa Fe. Gonzalez had a very good evening with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Bad luck as Union lost that game 87-102 to the higher-ranked Ferro (#6, 8-4). This loss caused Union to drop to 12th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-8 record. Gonzalez is well-known at Union and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was Francisco Celentano of San Lorenzo de Almagra U22 team (#7). Celentano scored 25 points. He was a key player of San Lorenzo, leading his team to a 97-93 win against the lower-ranked Union (#12, 5-8). San Lorenzo needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Celentano has a very solid season. In 13 games in Argentina he scored 9.5ppg.
