Franco Gimenez claims Argentinian LDD Hoops Agents weekly honour

Franco Gimenez (190) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best La Union Formosa and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
The had a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat Quimsa (#14, 6-10) 88-76. La Union is placed at 2nd position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. La Union will need more victories to improve their 14-4 record. In the team's last game Gimenez had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be La Union's top player in his first season with the team. Gimenez has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 19.4ppg) and averages solid 2.7spg and 59.1% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was Tiago Tomatis of Atenas Cordoba. Tomatis impressed basketball fans with 33 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Atenas to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Olimpico (#19, 1-16) 101-81. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Atenas keeps 18th position. 15 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Atenas managed to get this year. Tomatis is one of the most experienced players at Atenas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.7ppg (#1). He also registered 6.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Venezuelan Jesus Centeno (205-C-2006) of Gimnasia y Esgrima Comodoro Rivadavia (#9). Centeno got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . He was a key player of Gimnasia, leading his team to a 77-76 win against the lower-ranked Union (#13, 6-10). Gimnasia needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Centeno has a great season in Argentina.
