Argentinian LDD round 25 best performance: Carlos Hurtado

Ecuadorian Forward Carlos Hurtado (212-F-2006) had a very impressive game in the last round for Independiente de Oliva, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 25.
The 19-year old player had a double-double of 30 points and 13 rebounds, while his team beat Argentino (#16, 6-14) 76-66. Independ.O. maintains the 5th position in Argentinian LDD. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Independ.O. will need more victories to improve their 13-5 record. It's Hurtado's second year at Independ.O. and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Carlos Hurtado has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 19.1ppg) and averages impressive 69.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was Argentinian Tomas Delia) of Racing de Chivilcoy. Delia had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. It was enough for Racing Ch. to edge slightly higher-ranked Obera (#9, 9-10) 81-79. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Racing Ch. keeps 11th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-11 record. Delia is a newcomer at Racing Ch., but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Italian swingman Jeronimo Maidana (202-G/F-2004) of Atenas Cordoba (#17). Maidana showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 7 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Atenas, leading his team to a 83-80 win against the higher-ranked Union (#13, 7-11). Atenas can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 6-15 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Maidana has individually a great season in Argentina. After 18 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.4rpg (3rd best). Jeronimo Maidana has also Argentinian passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
