The biggest surprise took place in San Francisco where host San Isidro (11-5) beat league's leader Santa Paula (11-6) 87-78 on Monday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. San Isidro looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Swingman Manuel Lambrisca (192-1997) fired 23 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. point guard Nahuel Buchaillot (178-2000) chipped in 16 points and 6 assists. Camilo Gomez produced 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. San Isidro moved-up to second place, which they share with La Union. Santa Paula at the other side dropped to the third position with six games lost. They share it with Barrio Parque and Salta Basket. They were replaced at the leadership position by Provincial. Santa Paula will play next round against Jujuy trying to make it back to the top of the standings. San Isidro will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Amancay in La Rioja.
Leader Provincial delivered the fifteenth victory. This time they beat 7th ranked Centenario VT (9-5) 84-73 in Rosario. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Centenario VT. Worth to mention a great performance of Ecuadorian Abraham Barahona (195-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Matias Acosta contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds for Centenario VT. Centenario VT's coach Fernando Aguilar rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provincial maintains first position with 15-4 record. Centenario VT at the other side keeps the seventh place with five games lost. Provincial will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Centenario VT will play at home against Lanus (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
A very close game took place in San Miguel de Tucuman between Estudiantes T. and Rivadavia. Sixth ranked Estudiantes T. (10-7) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Rivadavia (8-11). Estudiantes T. managed to escape with a 1-point win 82-81 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Juan Bollo scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. At the losing side Zondrick Garrett responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Estudiantes T. have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 10-7 record. Loser Rivadavia dropped to the tenth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Ciclista. Estudiantes T. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rivadavia will play against Caroya (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Hindu managed to beat Independiente in a home game 88-75.



Pergamino - Villa Mitre 66-83

There was no surprise when 16th ranked Pergamino (5-15) was defeated at home by twelfth ranked Villa Mitre (6-10) 83-66 on Monday. Villa Mitre made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Federico Harina (186-1991) scored 19 points to lead the charge for the winners and Luciano Tambucci (194-1998) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Villa Mitre players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian power forward Emanual Shepherd (203-1995, college: Southern) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Nicolas Rodriguez (188-2002) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Despite that victory Villa Mitre went down to thirteenth position due to points difference. Pergamino lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixteenth place with 15 games lost.
