Benjamin Imaz claims Argentinian LDD weekly honour

Benjamin Imaz had a great game in the last round for Atenas Cordoba and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 29.
The had the game-high 22 points adding five rebounds and three assists for Atenas in his team's victory, helping them to beat San Martin (#12, 9-13) 92-78. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory Atenas moved-up to the 17th position in Argentinian LDD. Atenas is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-16 record. In the team's last game Imaz had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Atenas and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Benjamin Imaz averages this season 14.2ppg and 5.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Dominican Rep. center Leonel Nunez (206-C-2004) of San Martin Corrientes. Nunez impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 16 rebounds. Bad luck as San Martin lost that game 78-92 to the lower-ranked Atenas (#17, 7-16). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. San Martin keeps 12th position. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-13 record. Nunez is well-known by San Martin fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Gian Rossi (185-PG-2005) of Penarol Mar del Plata (#15). Rossi showcased his all-around game by recording 28 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. Despite Rossi's great performance the Penarol lost 83-89 to slightly higher-ranked Quimsa (#14, 8-14). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Penarol not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just seven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rossi could try to bring Penarol's a little bit higher in the standings. Rossi has individually a great season in Argentina. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.3ppg (5th best).
